Unidentified Intrigue

Who are you?

There is an archival box of photos tucked on the lowest shelf under the working table of the Brodhead Historical Society's storage room labeled "Unidentified."

Having a few photos I was able to pull from the interwebs of Grace and Grant McNair, I am slowly going through the box to see if I can hopefully find more photos of them in this box of Lost & Found people in our town's history.

I am overwhelmed by the beauty and visible strength of people in the photos, and wanted to share a few favorites discovered today. 

Will I find out who these people are? 

Will I find that prize I am hoping for to piece together more visual history of the McNair family?

God Willing I will. 

It is all so humbling to be able to hold these physical threads to the 19th century. 

Thank goodness they didn't have social media. Can you imagine what sort of trail the inconsequential snapshots of today looks like compared to these gorgeous captures???

The art of history, and elegance in the care in which presented themselves ... is mesmerizing.

I am so very grateful to be able to explore these treasures, and hopefully help bring names, the stories, and their faces to these people.
